Finding a great card table is very easy to find, but not everyone do their homework and they end up getting a table they don’t like.
Before you pull your wallet out, follow these guidelines and hopefully that will save you a trip to return center:
- Measure – You know the old saying, “measure twice, cut once”. If you’re planning to buy a card table for your house, you need to measure the room where the table is going to reside. Not properly measuring your room will potentially leave you with a table and not enough room for your card table and chairs. Once you get the measurements down, then you can decide on the table size.
- Size And Shape – The size of the table will depend on the number of players you plan on having over on a consistent basis. If you plan on having over 2-3 people every time, I highly recommend you look into a square card table. These tables are great for small areas. If you plan on having over 4-6 people most of the time, you should look into a round card table. For 7 players including yourself I would recommend an octagon shaped card table, because each edge of the table will seat each person comfortably. For 8-9 players, you should look into getting an oval shaped card table.
- Types – Like the size and shapes, there are also different kinds of card tables that you can buy. For instance, if you want to store the table when not in use, there are folding card tables where the legs basically retract. You can also get a tabletop kind where there are no legs at all. These are best when you already have a dining table and you just need something to be placed on top of it.
