New Charger Review: Sharper design

Optical Clarity

One of the biggest reasons why I prefer clear plastic shoe boxes is the optical clarity that clear plastic shoe boxes have. Clear boxes make it so much easier to find certain items because you don't have to remove every box and open it in order to identify the contents of a box. This helps you save a lot of time if you're in a hurry. With cardboard shoe boxes, you don't have this option. If you have piles of cardboard boxes that are used to store many different items, then you may have to go through every box in order to file what you are looking for, unless you have the boxes labeled.

Plastic Shoe Boxes Are More Durable Than Cardboard Boxes

Another advantage that clear plastic shoe boxes with lids have over their cardboard counterparts is more durability. This is especially true if the boxes are being kept in an environment that is not climate controlled. Over time, cardboard boxes will break down due to moisture. Plastic containers, on the other hand, don't have a problem with this. For this reason, plastic shoe boxes generally last longer than cardboard boxes.

Plastic Shoe Boxes Can Be Stacked A Lot Easier

Another big reason why I prefer plastic shoe boxes instead of cardboard shoe boxes is the fact that plastic shoe boxes are usually designed to be stacked on top of each other in a space saving arrangement. Cardboard boxes, on the other hand, are likely to collapse under the weight of the boxes that are on top of them, causing damage to the boxes and possibly damage to the items that are kept inside. This actually happened to me one time. I had a roll of decorative window privacy film that I had kept in a cardboard box, which had two boxes stacked on top of it. I had completely forgotten about it, in the box with the film had collapsed, crushing the roll of film and ruining it. If I kept this roll of film in a plastic box instead, then this would not have happened.

More strength, durability, and optical clarity are just three of the many reasons why I prefer to use clear plastic shoe boxes with lids instead of cardboard shoe boxes.
