Weddings can be fraught with indecision and stress when it comes to the small details, but it doesn’t have to be! Executing the wedding of your dreams on a budget doesn’t mean it has to look cheap. With planning and some help from your friends, you can create beautiful, yet inexpensive wedding centerpieces.

For a beach themed wedding try placing a wood or glass tray in the center of the table. Fill with an inch of clean sand, place sea shells that you have collected on the beach in the sand with tea light candles.  A simple and inexpensive way to set the tone for relaxation and fun.

Sprigs of Holly and Mistletoe with holiday colored ribbon wrapped around pillar candles and held in place with decorative brads will have all your guests on the lookout for Santa.

Having a wedding on New Year’s Eve?  Large goldfish bowls filled with confetti, noise makers and glow lights are perfect for ringing in the New Year and the beginning of a new life for the happy couple.

Hurricane lamps filled with fragrant lavender and rosemary fresh from the garden with battery operated mini light strands are a romantic, and flame-free centerpiece. Plan ahead and plant the lavender and rosemary in your garden or window box or keep it in a planter on your kitchen counter. These herbs are not only perfect for creating a romantic wedding centerpiece, but are great for cooking and grilling.

Don’t want a cut floral arrangement?  Plant two inch clay pots with lavender, rosemary and thyme and group them together on a mirror in the center of each table, or use your favorite plant from your garden, to create a unique and personal centerpiece. Have one pot for each guest to take home as a wedding favor.

Small clay pots, votive holders and mini light strands can be found online, at wholesalers and in your local craft store. Often you can purchase them on sale or in bulk, which will reduce the cost to you even further, allowing you to save the money, or use it on something else for the wedding.

Found items, such as sea shells, tree branches and pine cones can be used as filler in candle holders, in floral arrangements or as the focal point of a centerpiece.

Once you have a theme for your wedding, take a walk and look around you. Think about when and where your wedding will take place, then stop and smell the roses. Look at the world around you and let your imagination be your guide to your wedding centerpieces ideas. Inexpensive options can be simple, elegant and look like a Million bucks, all you have to do is dream.
