These days, the amount of people advertising that they will buy your old gold has shot up through the roof. Everywhere you look – whether it is television, radio, or the newspaper, you will see someone offering to pay you money for your old gold. This business, then, must be booming – and anytime a business booms, a sizeable amount of people think about joining it.
Are you, then, considering becoming a gold buyer and reseller? Do you think you have what it takes to make money by buying and selling mankind’s oldest and most valuable commodity? In all likelihood, it is a much tougher business than you think – and many gold buyers and sellers, even those who give it their best shot, can sometimes fail entirely due to bad luck.
And luck does play a very big part in this business – the cash for gold insider says or perhaps “chance” is a better word than luck. After all, this is no different than the stock market – except instead of investing in stocks and equities you are investing in a commodity, which is traded on a regular basis at a public price. The key is to buy people’ sold gold when the price of gold is low, and sell it when the price of gold is high. Of course, this is a lot easier said than done – if you purchase a sizeable amount of gold jewellery when the price of gold is low, and then the price just goes even lower instead of shooting up like you expected, you are left in a terrible situation, because you are holding a commodity that has severely depreciated in value.
And we have not even discussed some of the other costs that merchants in this line of business deal with. For example, there are the costs associated with processing the old gold to make it ready for future reuse – these are never an easy one, because they subtract from your profit directly.
